Exposing Nature’s Beauty is a collection of cyanotypes and film slides displayed in a light box. Each photo used for both the cyanotypes and slides were photographed by me with the intention of capturing unconventional beauty always around us. This includes images of rotting fruit or dried leaves on a tree to highlight how you should actively seek out beauty instead of waiting to passively come across what others say is beautiful. There are also no man made objects or indication of human involvement featured in any of the photos.The cyanotypes are printed on recycled and thrifted fabrics to further emphasize the importance of finding beauty around you rather than seeking out the new, conventional types of beauty. In my piece Exposing Nature’s Beauty, I am highlighting a concept that I hold near to my heart while expressing it through the art form that I feel most connected to.
